Harry Ricketts is a professor in the English Programme at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, and also teaches creative non-fiction in the International Institute of Modern Letters. He has published 30 books. These include literary biographies - The Unforgiving Minute: A Life of Rudyard Kipling (1999) and Strange Meetings: The Poets of the Great War (2010), personal essays (How to Live Elsewhere, 2004, and How to Catch a Cricket Match, 2006) and ten collections of poems (most recently Half Dark, 2015). He has also co-edited several anthologies of New Zealand poetry, including Essential New Zealand Poems: Facing the Empty Page (with James Norcliffe and Siobhan Harvey, 2014), a collection of new essays about WW1 (How We Remember: New Zealanders and the First World War, 2014) and, forthcoming, with Gavin McLean, The Penguin Book of New Zealand War Writing.
Peter Vangioni is a nocturnal letterpress printer who operates the Kowhai Press at Bryndwr, Christchurch. He favours printing on hand operated Victorian era cast iron printing presses that don’t plug into the national grid. In 2014 he was the Otakou Press Printer in Residence at University of Otago.
